Cerebrospinal fluid microRNAs as potential biomarkers in Alzheimer’s disease

چکیده

Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the leading form of dementia worldwide, but its early detection and diagnosis remain a challenge. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are group small endogenous RNA molecules that regulate mRNA expression. Recent evidence suggests miRNAs play an important role in five major hallmarks AD pathophysiology: amyloidogenesis, tauopathy, neuroinflammation, synaptic dysfunction, neuronal death. Compared to traditional biomarkers AD, display greater degree stability cerebrospinal fluid. Moreover, aberrant changes miRNA expression can be measured over time monitor guide patient treatment. Specific profiles combinations may also used distinguish subjects from normal controls other causes dementia. Because these properties, now being considered as promising potential AD. This review comprehensively summarizes diagnostic regulatory roles

Pro-Apoptotic Kinase Levels in Cerebrospinal Fluid as Potential Future Biomarkers in Alzheimer’s Disease

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized by the accumulation of Aβ peptides, hyperphosphorylated tau proteins, and neuronal loss in the brain of affected patients. The causes of neurodegeneration in AD are not clear, but apoptosis could be one of the cell death mechanisms. According to the amyloid hypothesis, abnormal aggregation of Aβ leads to altered kinase activities inducing tau phosphoryl...

Tetranectin and apolipoprotein A-I in cerebrospinal fluid as potential biomarkers for Parkinson's disease.

OBJECTIVE The application of biomarkers may potentially improve the efficiency of the diagnosis for Parkinson's disease (PD). However, no reliable biomarker has been identified to date. This study is aimed to identify proteins that might serve as potential biomarkers for PD diagnosis or pathogenesis. MATERIALS AND METHODS Two-dimensional difference gel electrophoresis (2D DIGE) technique, in ...

Cerebrospinal fluid peptides as potential Parkinson disease biomarkers: a staged pipeline for discovery and validation.

Finding robust biomarkers for Parkinson disease (PD) is currently hampered by inherent technical limitations associated with imaging or antibody-based protein assays. To circumvent the challenges, we adapted a staged pipeline, starting from our previous proteomic profiling followed by high-throughput targeted mass spectrometry (MS), to identify peptides in human cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) for PD...

Cerebrospinal Fluid Biomarkers for Huntington's Disease.

Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) is enriched in brain-derived components and represents an accessible and appealing means of interrogating the CNS milieu to study neurodegenerative diseases and identify biomarkers to facilitate the development of novel therapeutics. Many such CSF biomarkers have been proposed for Huntington's disease (HD) but none has been validated for clinical trial use. Across many...

MicroRNAs in Salivary Exosome as Potential Biomarkers

The aim of this study was to examine whether salivary exosomal miRNAs could be identified as aging biomarkers. Fifteen young healthy volunteers (median age, 21.0 years) and 13 old individuals (median age, 66.0 years) were recruited. Unstimulated whole saliva was collected, salivary exosomes were isolated, and total RNA was extracted. In a microarray, 242 miRNAs were commonly detected in these t...
